When you’re writing deep short love letters for him—sometimes it’s best to get a little inspiration. What do you want to say? How do you want to say it? Where should you say it? These are all great questions to ask! And I’m here to help you…
Telling your boyfriend, crush, or just someone that you know that you love them is a tremendous act. Love is one of the best medicines. In fact, a very cool study published by A.B.R. Thompson in 1989 actually showed links between the expression of love and the idea of medical “miracles.” Quite cool, right?
According to research by the Journal of the International Association for Relationship Research, across three individual studies, people found that storytelling had a major impact on their reception of love from the person who was expressing it.
How can I make him feel special through a deep and short love letter?
Well, the act of writing one is going to be special. But here’s what you should keep in mind before you start writing (or reading examples).
1. Write something that’s meaningful to you
The most impactful letter is going to be one that has a special meaning to you. Express yourself. Rather than thinking about how he might respond or react to the letter. If you’re with the right person, your single-expression of love will have a strong impact on him.

2. Be specific and use real examples
Compare your life before and after you met him. This is a great way to make sure that he sees that you’re truly thinking this through. That your letter isn’t just one that you’ve copy and pasted.
3. The idea of being “deep” in your love letter will depend on your shared contract
What are things that the both of you tend to lean toward when it comes to your experiences together? For example, do you consider yourselves twin flames? Or do you consider yourself soulmates?
Write about those things. What are the love or spiritual contracts that the two of you are making together?

When you love him like no one before
My life has changed since I met you. I never thought that I would ever meet someone like you. When I look at my past, it can make me sad. But ultimately, it makes me realize how much I’m appreciative of you. I can’t begin to express how much I love you.
When he’s the love of your life
I knew the moment that I met you that there was a strong connection between us. You are everything to me. If there was ever a person that I would put everything “on the line” for, it would be you. I hope you know how much I love you, every day.

When you can’t be near each other right now
Even with the distance between us, I can feel our connection growing. There’s something about you. Hearing your voice. Seeing your face. I can’t stop thinking about you every moment of the day. Is it an obsession? Maybe. All I know is that this is what love should feel like. And I’m so grateful for you.
When there’s nothing stopping the two of you
Nothing will ever stop me from trying to be with you. From trying to support you. And show care to you. And be there for you. It feels like it may be my life purpose. I know that could sound kind of corny. But it’s true. I would do anything for you.

To make him cry almost immediately
For my future husband—life is more meaningful when you are around. I felt like such a broken person before you came into my life and healed me. You are my healer. I had a broken heart, a poor sense of what the future should look like, and more than a few chips on my shoulder.
Make the both of you cry with this very short letter
Who were we before we met each other? What mattered to us? Where were we going? Do we really know the answers to these questions now? I don’t think that we do. But what I do know is that there is a certain purpose to my life and it has become clear only with you. I was born for you. You were born for me. And there’s evidence of this every day that we get the opportunity to touch each other, be together, and look into each other’s eyes.

You give me a purpose letter
When my mom told me that one day I would meet someone who would give me purpose—I thought she might be a little crazy. It wasn’t until the day that I met you that everything I’ve been told began to make sense. There’s something magical about you. You make me feel special. And make me feel love when I never felt it. Yes, you even teach me things about life. You teach me things about love. You are my teacher. And I love spending every minute of every day with you.
I’m complete with you
How many times have we seen movies where people tell each other that they feel complete when the other person is around? It feels like almost every movie. But maybe the world is truly a special place because I finally understand what they’re talking about. My entire world turned upside down when you came into it. Dark turned to light. Poor and negative turned into hope. And meaning, purpose, fulfillment, faith, and understanding became things that I finally started to embrace. I love you so much, and I will never stop loving you.
Where can these deep love letters go?
Here are a few ideas on where to put these short letters.
1. Send a text message
A loving good morning text message (one that’s a little long) is a great way to tell someone that you love them. And a perfect way to show someone that they could be your number one priority. Don’t have time in the morning? It’s okay to send one at night too!
2. The classic card approach—a deep and short love letter for him
Is it Valentine’s Day? Is it a special occasion (like your anniversary)? If so, a short letter is a great way to go. The best part about this is when you can write it by hand—it shows that you truly think of them as your highest priority. Try writing a letter in all cursive.
3. An actual letter—surprise him with it
Yes, it sounds corny—but writing a real letter (using an envelope and more) can be a great way to send him something special. You don’t have to mail it. You can simply write it and then slip it to him at a time when he’s not expecting it.
For example, maybe put the letter on his counter in the bathroom.
So the next time that he goes to take a shower or brush his teeth—he’s surprised by you.
My experience with these types of letters…
Whether it’s a special occasion or you just need an idea of how to express yourself—having a template to work from can be a great way to get started. It’s not in everyone’s wheelhouse to be able to come up with the right words to be able to express themselves.
In fact, just by having a few examples to go on, you can integrate your own stories, experiences, and special feelings for the person that you care about the most.
I was one of those people—having a difficult time learning how to express myself emotionally. But having a few examples to work from gave me the literary techniques to be able to write my own and speak to the other person in a helpful, loving, and unique way that was special to them.
